Sales Director – Americas (Mexico, South America, Latin America, Central America)

Job Description


Spectrum Technologies develops and markets affordable plant measurement solutions to the agricultural, turf and horticultural markets throughout the world.  Founded in 1987, Spectrum Technologies is headquartered in Aurora, IL. This position is based in Aurora, IL.  The Sales Director will report to the President of Spectrum.  This position will be responsible for developing and growing Spectrum’s business through, 1) exceeding sales targets for existing distributors, 2) identifying and developing new distributors, 3) developing the business with Strategic National Accounts, and 4) growing business with large End Users. 


Duties & Responsibilities

·       Place outbound calls and make customer visits to current and prospective distributors to achieve revenue goals. 

·       Track customer activities and follow-up actions within the CRM system.

·       Visit, build relationships, provide product and sales training and increase product breadth at key distributors in the Americas.

·       Network within Strategic National Accounts in the crop protection, seed and irrigation businesses. 

·       Understand and respond to industry trends, markets and products; voice industry needs and gaps internally.

·       Develop market goals, annual business plans and monthly action plans.

·       Forecast, budget and track assigned revenue targets.

·       Monitor the status of activities, action plans, sales and projects on a weekly basis.

·       Represent the company at select trade shows or association events.


Requirements & Qualifications

·       Bachelor's degree required

·       Solid communication skills in Spanish – written and verbal

·       Agricultural industry experience and understanding of the market preferred

·       Minimum of three years successful, results driven sales experience

·       Demonstrated skills in achieving sales goals through distributors and customers

·       Thorough understanding of consultative sales cycle

·       Ability to effectively implement sales and marketing strategies

·       Ability to interface and demonstrate leadership both internally and externally

·       High-energy self-starter as well as collaborative team player

·       Proven ability to effectively communicate cross functionally within company and with customers

·       Demonstrated commitment to building strong business relationships with customers

·       High level of accountability

·       Candidate should possess strong analytical skills, critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills

·       Computer literacy and proficiency in word processing, CRM, spreadsheet, and presentation software is required.
