National Accounts Manager – Ag

Position

This position will report to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and will be responsible for: 1) developing and guiding the implementation of account specific business plans, 2) achieving account profitability and sales targets, 3) serving as the primary account contact and 4) providing account leadership in the US and Canada for National Accounts.  This individual will also be responsible for the introduction and increased distribution of key products.  Our global clients are focused in agriculture markets including; a) Bio-Tech (Pioneer, Monsanto, Syngenta), b) OEM (Raven, Lindsay, Reinke), and c) Distributors to Ag Retail & Grower markets in the US and Canada.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Place outbound calls to current and prospective distributors and national accounts in pursuit of business development
  • Visit key accounts to build relationships and demonstrate product solutions
  • Track customer activities and follow-up actions within the CRM system
  • Develop account strategies in accordance with overall channel strategy
  • Single point of contact for all aspects of business with accounts
  • Develop account goals and business plans with customers
  • Conduct regular reviews of business performance, promotion strategies, planograms
  • Forecast, budget and track account revenues and cost
  • Understand and monitor channel conflict
  • Ensure new products are introduced across the accounts
  • Communicate through a weekly report the status of accounts, sales and projects

 

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or business related field.
  • Minimum of five years successful, results driven outside sales experience
  • Demonstrated record of multi-location national account experience (HQ level preferred)
  • Demonstrated skills in achieving sales, profitability and budget goals
  • Thorough understanding of consultative sales process
  • Ability to effectively implement sales and marketing strategies
  • Ability to effectively monitor category performance versus plan and communicate accordingly
  • Ability to interface and demonstrate leadership both internally and externally
  • High-energy self-starter as well as collaborative team player
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate cross functionally within company and the customer
  • Demonstrated commitment to building strong business relationships with customer
  • Effective, strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High level of accountability, team player
  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior leaders internally and with customer
  • Candidate should possess strong analytical skills, critical thinking skills and problem solving skills.  Computer literacy and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software is required
  • Experience in agricultural industry required
