Spectrum Technologies develops and markets affordable plant measurement solutions to the agricultural and horticultural markets throughout the world.  Founded in 1987, Spectrum Technologies is headquartered in Aurora, IL.  The company’s technology is focused on four primary product groups which include 1) Weather and Environmental Monitoring, 2) Nutrient Management Tools, 3) Integrated Pest Management Tools, and 4) Soil Moisture and Quality Measurement.  Spectrum has received 23 prestigious AE50 awards from the America Society of Agricultural Engineers for innovations in product and system design.  Spectrum has over 14,000 customers in over 75 countries worldwide. 

Position

This position will report to the Director of Domestic Sales and will be responsible for the development and execution of marketing strategies to boost revenue through the increase of brand awareness and market position. This role is responsible for collaborative creation, implementation, and measurement of successful, comprehensive marketing programs.  This position has one direct report.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives. Evaluates customer research, market conditions, competitor data and implements marketing plan changes as needed. Oversees all marketing, advertising and promotional activities.

  • Develop a Strategic Marketing Plan for each new product launch.
  • Manage all aspects of tradeshow participation, including registration, resources, product positioning and measurement of overall effectiveness.
  • Provide input to product management on new product requirements.
  • Assist with and/or lead market research initiatives; make visits to customers, non-customers and tradeshows as requested.
  • Demonstrate technical marketing skills and product knowledge of product lines.
  • Develop and implement an annual, company-wide go-to-market plan for new and existing products, working with all departments to execute.
  • Manage the Marketing Department budget. Delivery of all marketing activity within agreed budget.
  • Capture testimonials from customers.
  • Measure customer satisfaction with products and services.
  • Manage all aspects of print production, receipt, and distribution, including the company catalog.
  • Developing and implement the company’s social media and website activity/plan.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or other related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing.
  • Experience with enterprise software solutions and complex organizations.
  • Experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Proven ability to oversee all marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities
  • Effective, strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High level of accountability, team player
  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior leaders internally and with customer
  • Extensive experience with new market and sales channels – developing product launches
  • Experience creating strategic alliances and partnerships
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple, high priority projects
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software is required. 
  • Experience in the Agricultural industry.
