Marketing Manager

Location: Plainfield, IL

Market: Greenhouse/Nursery, Horticulture, Vegetable Crops, Research

Geographic Market: Global

Reports to: Director of Operations

Job Description: The Marketing Manager position administers and maintains approved marketing strategies to meet annual organizational objectives. The position evaluates customer research, market conditions, competitor data and implements marketing plan changes as needed and oversees all marketing, advertising and promotional activities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  •     Markets a professional line of Plant Measurement Technologies to the agricultural and horticultural industries.
  •     Demonstrates technical marketing skills and product knowledge of product line.
  •     Assists in the development of annual marketing plan in conjunction with National and International sales departments.
  •     Manages the approved marketing department budget. Delivers all marketing activity within agreed budget.
  •     Manages all aspects of print production, receipt and distribution.
  •     Recommends specific market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research and surveys supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
  •     Drives a solution set across development teams through market requirements, product contract, and positioning.
  •     Develops and implements a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
  •     Administers all approved space advertising and newsletter campaigns.
  •     Administer all approved direct marketing projects and handles all areas of campaign management.
  •     Creates and manages annual catalog production and circulation.
  •     Produce all press releases needed by both US and Internationally.
  •     Oversee Trade Shows organization including pre-show and post-show communication, data-entry projects, mail-merge projects, website re-design and maintenance
  •     Hires and manages staff within the marketing department.

 

Required Skills/Experience:

  •     Bachelor’s degree in marketing or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  •     4-6 years of recent sales experience in the marketing industry.
  •     Experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives.
  •     Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  •     Proven ability to oversee all marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities.
  •     Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and accuracy
  •     Independent problem-solving capabilities.
  •     Appropriate business-to-customer communication skills.
  •     Demonstrated proficiency in Word, ACCESS, and Excel, Adobe.
