Sales Consultant - Pacific US Region

Spectrum Technologies develops and markets affordable plant measurement solutions to the agricultural and horticultural markets throughout the world.  Founded in 1987, Spectrum Technologies is headquartered in Plainfield, IL. The company’s technology is focused on four primary product groups which include 1) Weather and Environmental Monitoring, 2) Nutrient Management Tools, 3) Integrated Pest Management Tools, and 4) Soil Moisture and Quality Measurement.  Spectrum has received 23 prestigious AE50 awards from the America Society of Agricultural Engineers for innovations in product and system design. 

Position

This position will report to the Domestic Sales Director and will be responsible for; 1) developing and growing Spectrum’s business in the Pacific US Region, 2) achieving sales targets, 3) serving as the primary industry contact for assigned region.

This individual will also be responsible for the introduction and increased adoption of key products to this market.  The clients are focused in the following sub-markets; a) Fruit and Nut Crops, b) Vegetable Crops, c) Greenhouse & Nursery

Duties & Responsibilities

·       Develop new customer accounts

  • Visit key accounts to build relationships and demonstrate product solutions
  • Track customer activities and follow-up actions within the CRM system
  • Develop account strategies in accordance with overall channel strategy
  • Single point of contact for all aspects of business with accounts
  • Conduct regular reviews of business performance and promotion strategies
  • Forecast, budget and track account revenues and cost
  • Communicate through a weekly report the status of accounts, sales, and projects

·       Meet sales objectives

·       Schedule, plan, and budget for varies tradeshows/meetings

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or business related field.
  • Minimum of three to five years successful, results driven sales experience
  • Demonstrated skills in achieving sales quotas
  • Thorough understanding of consultative sales cycle
  • Ability to effectively implement sales and marketing strategies
  • Ability to effectively monitor category performance versus plan and communicate accordingly
  • Ability to interface and demonstrate leadership both internally and externally
  • High-energy self-starter as well as collaborative team player
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate cross functionally within company and the customer
  • Demonstrated commitment to building strong business relationships with customer
  • Effective, strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High level of accountability, team player
  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior leaders internally and with customer
  • Candidate should possess strong analytical skills, critical thinking skills and problem solving skills
